When I first looked at Flickr I couldn't get past the family and event type photos. However, once I delved a little deeper I found an interesting poster for using Web 2.0 while teaching about cells. Creating cell models isn't probably anything I will tackle in the library, unless I need to clone myself or an aide, but it gives a small snapshot of possibilities for using such tools in our environment.
I want to be sure I understand your comment...you are not able to find "school" related pictures in Flickr because there are too many personal/family photos.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it is the keywords you are using because I have been very successful, even vague things like emotions have brought good examples.
I hope you will look at the various samples other Players have selected...there are great examples for all kinds of language arts ideas, science and social studies, math...
If it continues to be a problem, please post about and we all will try to help!
Sorry for the confusion! Only initially did I have difficulty looking at Flickr as a source other than that to share photos with family and friends-just trouble thinking outside the box. I actually "played" for a couple of hours on the site once I climbed "ouside the box".
